“The Personal cost of the Apocalypse for our boys is real. They will suffer in every possible way,” reveals executive producer Sera Gamble. Well, then, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) and their rebel angel ally Castiel (Misha Collins) better find the elusive God on the double. Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) will return to bedevil Sam, and we’ll finally get to meet the Evil One’s rival, Archangel Michael, despite his not having a body. (It seems only the understandably reluctant Dean can be his human host.) But it’s not all End of Days when Sam and Dean get involved in delicously hoary horror in several stand-alone episodes. First up, something terrifying is happening in an insane asylum, and that’s not good for the boys when they check themselves in — and can’t get out. Then it’s on to the zombie express when the brothers find a town over-run by the undead. “They’re not necessarily bad zombies – at least right off the bat,” Gamble says. This season’s “very dark and sinister” deconstruction of a holiday : Valentine’s Day. And in a nod to persistent fans, Sam gets body swap – no telling with whom – and the show delves further into the secrets of the Winchester family.Promises Gamble, “There will be flashbacks”.

Supernatural Brings Back Meg

For those who’ve been wondering what happened to Meg, the sassy demon with a huge grudge against Supernatural’s Winchester brothers, she’s back! And Rachel Miner, the former Mrs. Macaulay Culkin, who got her start on Guiding Light and was most recently seen as a bisexual S&M practicing character on Californication, is playing the character, last seen in Season 2. “I’ve been wondering, what Meg’s doing out there,” creator Eric Kripke tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively. “I’ve been continually asking the writers, ‘Where’s Meg?” She’s would make a really formidable adversary. I got impatient and ended up writing her into my own script.” So far, Miner’s been signed for one episode.

This comes on top of the previously reported casting of Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer. Satan is a nice turnaround for the actor, who played Lost’s mysterious God-like Jacob in May’s season finale, although he did portray Rita’s devilish abusive husband on Dexter.

So what do you Supernatural fans think of the casting? Does Pellegrino fit your image of Lucifer? And will you miss Nicki Aycox, who originally played Meg?

Supernatural is typically underappreciated by anyone giving out awards, as exhibited by the total lack of nominations at the Teen Choice Awards. To make up for that, TV Guide Magazine has come out with its list of the 100 Best Episodes of All-Time, and Supernatural actually made the list.

The rules seem to indicate that the magazine only chose one episode per show, and for Supernatural, they went with the season 3 finale, “No Rest for the Wicked,” with Dean going to Hell. Personally I wouldn’t say this is the absolute best episode of the show, but we have to take what we can get. Here’s what they said:

“95. SUPERNATURAL
“No Rest for the Wicked” 5/18/2008
The show went to Hell—literally—when Dean settled his deal with the Devil in Season 3’s brutally good finale. “

Bon… Rien de bien nouveau, toujours les mêmes incertitudes et aucune confirmation formelle mais bon…

I have heard the CW wants Supernatural to go on, but Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Eric Kripke want to leave after this season. And with Lucifer rising, it seems the show is near its end. Can you shed any light on things? — Morgan
MATT: Yes, CW boss Dawn Ostroff has indicated that she may « override » Kripke’s longtime plan to end Supernatural after five seasons. And while the series’ creator isn’t signed on beyond this season, its two leads are. In fact, Padalecki just told io9, « My best guess is that Supernatural will go beyond Season 5″ —possibly sans Kripke. Inconceivable, you say? Smallville minus original bosses Al Gough and Miles Millar, I say.

What can you tell us about the Supernatural season finale? — Andira
MATT: What can I tell you that’s not already out there? The apocalypse is nearing, the boys battle each other in a bloody-good smack-down, the hunt is on for Lilith before she breaks the final seal…. All in all, I’d brace for something extra-special, as far as Supernatural goes, seeing as this is only the second time series creator Erik Kripke has directed an episode — and the very first time he has worked off one of his own scripts. P.S. I assume you spied our sneak peek of this week’s episode?

Mouais, bof, pas génial… Ca ne nous apprend rien de plus… Dommage.

Want to know what’s up with the Winchester Brothers? We asked Supernatural creator Eric Kripke to spill some secrets about the last two episodes of the truly scary heading-toward-the-Apocalypse fourth season. Here’s his exclusive scoop for TV Guide Magazine.

What are the major confrontations in these last two episodes?
OK, a spoiler because I love you: Dean [Jensen Ackles] and Uncle Bobby [Jim Beaver] learn about Sam’s little demon blood addiction. They’re understandably horrified, but instead of having yet another argument with Sam [Jared Padalecki], they take action. Drastic action. Action that will drive a wedge between Sam and Dean.

Uber-demon Lilith told Sam that she was not going to survive long enough for the “good parts” of the Apocalypse. Sam is obsessed with killing her. How do Dean and Bobby feel about that?
I don’t think anyone has a problem with killing Lilith. It’s how Sam wants to kill her that’s troubling–it’s the copious amounts of demon blood that he’s knocking back. I think Dean and Bobby want to kill Lilith and save the world, they just don’t want to forfeit Sam’s soul in the process.

Does Sam’s demon pal Ruby play a role in these episodes?
Yes, she plays a large role in the final episodes. Sam and Dean split up, basically, and so Sam joins Ruby on a final run to kill Lilith, while Dean is hanging out with the Angels, trying to do the same.

What will the angel Castiel and his boss Zacharias be up to?
They’ll be preparing Dean for his final, destined role in this battle. The Apocalypse is coming down to the wire, and it’s time for Dean to play his part. While we’re on the subject, besides Zach and Cass, a lot of the Angel gang are coming back–Anna makes an appearance, and even the Prophet Chuck pops in for a bit.

Is it true that there are some major deaths in the finale? How many?
Yes. Some major deaths. More than one, less than 12.

Since Dean already died, is it Sam’s turn?
Nope. Sam lives for this one. We were getting a little tired with killing and resurrecting our guys–at least for now–they may die again sometime next season, who knows.

How will the deaths affect the storyline next season?
In a very big way.

Will there be that promised great confrontation between Sam and Dean? Should we expect a major rift between the brothers by the end of the season finale?
Yes, there will be a huge confrontation, bridges burnt, and a seemingly insurmountable chasm between the guys. But it will happen before the end of the finale. We’ll deal with some of the repercussions of their split before the season’s out. Just to torture our fans.

Last season’s wow cliffhanger ended with Dean dying. Is there a cliffhanger this season? If so, any teasers?
Yes, there will be a big cliffhanger that will set the stage for season 5. I can’t say what it is, but it ain’t good. Stay tuned.

I heard there is going to be a death on Supernatural, which would be very, very sad! Can you shed some light on that? — Fern
MATT:
Well, one of the big rumors is that our boy Bobby will be the one to buy it. I broached that prickly topic with cast member Jim Beaver himself, and while he would/could not refute it, he noted, « Nobody takes Bobby down easy! » He then teased the « intense and astonishing » May 14 season finale thusly: « People are going to have some of their expectations toppled. » (Much more from the Beav on Thursday.)

I remember the Supernatural producers saying last summer that we’d be seeing Steven Williams‘ Rufus this season — yet so far, nothing. Is that still happening? — Alexandra
MATT:
In a word, sorta. The boys will hear from Rufus in Episode 21, which is titled « When the Levee Breaks » and airs May 7.
