‘Supernatural’ scoop: 100th episode will be heavy on mythology
Time flies when you’re battling demons and preventing apocalypses and stuff. Case in point:Supernatural will celebrate its milestone 100th episode this spring with an hour that focuses largely on Dean (Jensen Ackles).
“We’re aiming for it to be a big mythology episode,” reveals Supernatural boss Eric Kripke, adding that, “The Archangel Michael plays a very large part as we explore his relationship with Dean.”
But what form will Arch Mike take? The comments section is currently accepting your predictions…

Samantha Ferris(Ellen Harvelle) a posté un message à propos de son départ de Supernatural sur son site internet.
bye bye Ellen
sigh.
So now you know.
Couldn’t say anything for obvious reasons, plus i didn’t want to ruin it for anyone.
Knew about it for weeks. Phil Sgriccia (director) was kind to call us ahead of time and tell us we were going out. Totally didn’t see it coming but those are always the best ones.
I was a little shocked at first….why bring us back just to kill us off?….was the question in my mind. Who knows why. If we were a fly on the wall of the writers room, maybe we’d have a better idea. Maybe they don’t even know…..i would imagine writing is a tricky thing. So many variables to think of. I do believe that they needed a nail-biter-shocker to go into the mid season break and i think Jo and Ellen were a good target. Wish it wasn’t the case but it made for some good TV, no? Plus, come on……do they let ANYONE live on the show? The boys, Bobby, and Cass. Everyone else is fair game.
It was a wonderful way to go. We had fun. Cried buckets of tears for the goodbye scenes. Alona did, too. Bizarre working with the hellhounds as they were CGI and weren’t really there at all. I don’t know how actors do big blockbuster movies working with just a CGI character…….director has to talk you through it…..you are reacting to something that isn’t there….gotta use your imagination. Weird.
The shout out to Kim Manners was an idea from one of the Camera guys, Brad. He came up to me quietly on the down low before we shot that piece where i say goodbye to Dean and said, “hey, when you turn around to say “don’t miss” try one where you say “kick it in the ass” “. The line was just supposed to be “….and Dean, don’t miss”. We did both. They put both in. It was a bittersweet moment for the cast and crew. Robin the props gal cried……Kim is/was and will always be a very loved and missed man. Especially on that set.
They were really lovely to myself and Alona. Gave us a nice send off. Sent us beautiful gift baskets and made the sweetest send off DVD. It made me cry. Phil and Kristin (in the LA office….post production) put together a little compilation DVD montage of a bunch of our work….best part: it was done to Tom Jones’ song, She’s a Lady. It was very thoughful of them. I cried.
Hell, i BAWLED after i shot the last scene (where i got up and took the chain off the doors and let the dogs in). Like a break up…..and you lose his family, too. You know that feeling?
Ah well. Great thing about Supernatural…..you can always come back as a ghost or something else non-human…..and i don’t think that is totally out of the question. There was talk of that, but i think it might have been maybe to make us feel a bit better? Who knows. With this show anything can happen.
And hey……there are always the conventions! Three of them next spring/summer….Australia, Germany and Spain. Totally Psyched…..May will be here before you know it.
XO

We need some teasers to get us through a cold dark December without Supernatural. What can we look forward to?
We are continuing to deal with the overarching storyline of the Apocalypse. The personal cost for our boys is real; they will suffer in every possible way. This season has been really funny but also very dark. The Supernatural palate has escalated due to the Apocalypse. We’re able to tell stories on a slightly larger scale.
Can you give us some peeks at those stories?
We have several closed-ended episodes. In the first [“Sam, Interrupted,” airing January 14], the boys are contacted by a hunter who had worked a case that was so traumatic that he went crazy. He’s been voluntarily living in an insane asylum and something not right is happening there, and he calls the boys. So Sam and Dean check themselves in. The challenge of an episode like this is that it’s well-trodden territory in horror movies and television shows, so we made sure we had a different take. You don’t have to be crazy to be a hunter, but it helps. That’s what Sam and Dean explore. We’re also doing our twist on a zombie story. It’s different from the Croatoan virus zombies. These are post-modern with lots of personality.
Don’t they chomp on flesh?
I can’t say too much. [Laughs] They’re not necessarily bad zombies. At least not right off the bat. They’re zombies that make you think.
Will we finally see God?
Not any time soon, but people are definitely looking for him. It’s an ongoing quest for Castiel [Misha Collins]. It’s vitally important for him and increasingly interesting for the boys. Historically Sam has more faith. The jury is out for Dean as to whether or not God currently exists. We might be the only show on the CW actively searching for God.
Has God been cast yet?
[Laughs] I can’t tell you anything about God.
What’s Lucifer’s next move?
You’ll be seeing more of Lucifer. I really dig the actor [Mark Pellegrino]. You’ll learn more about how his taking Sam over figures into his plans. And how he came to find Nick, who’s his current [host]. And you will definitely start to understand the Archangel Michael’s perspective. He’s trying to become embodied and Dean is the only possible vessel for him. He’s not walking around in the here and now, so we have to be creative in introducing Michael. You will meet him.
Are there any holiday deconstructions this year, like you’ve done with the pagan roots of Christmas and Halloween?
We will be doing a very dark and sinister Valentine’s Day episode. It’s an exploration of the nature of love and desire, which can be very destructive.
Anything else you can share?
We’re also doing a body swap episode, Sam with a human—that’s all I will say. Fans have been clamoring for it for five seasons. The last thing I can tell you is that we will be further exploring the secrets of the Winchester family and Sam and Dean’s past. There’s more to reveal there.
Any Winchester family members showing up?
Yeah, actually. You might get a flashback here and there.
Still hoping for a return from Jeffrey Dean Morgan?
Let me tell you, we’ll do back flips the day we hear he’s available to play John Winchester again.

“The Personal cost of the Apocalypse for our boys is real. They will suffer in every possible way,” reveals executive producer Sera Gamble. Well, then, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) and their rebel angel ally Castiel (Misha Collins) better find the elusive God on the double. Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) will return to bedevil Sam, and we’ll finally get to meet the Evil One’s rival, Archangel Michael, despite his not having a body. (It seems only the understandably reluctant Dean can be his human host.) But it’s not all End of Days when Sam and Dean get involved in delicously hoary horror in several stand-alone episodes. First up, something terrifying is happening in an insane asylum, and that’s not good for the boys when they check themselves in — and can’t get out. Then it’s on to the zombie express when the brothers find a town over-run by the undead. “They’re not necessarily bad zombies – at least right off the bat,” Gamble says. This season’s “very dark and sinister” deconstruction of a holiday : Valentine’s Day. And in a nod to persistent fans, Sam gets body swap – no telling with whom – and the show delves further into the secrets of the Winchester family.Promises Gamble, “There will be flashbacks”.
